The Recta Globemaster Compass is a brilliant navigational aid. Vital to the traveller but little known is that a compass needle dips varying amounts depending on latitude. The dip known as ‘inclination’ will prevent a normal compass bought in the UK from working properly in, amongst other places, Australia, South America and most of Africa.
