EVent gaiters at an excellent price, these use the most breathable waterproof membrane around to keep your legs dry, stop mud working its way up your trousers and keep pebbles out of your shoes. Basically a cheaper version of Rab's Hispar gaiters with a reinforced nylon lower section instead of Cordura (and they don't say "Rab", of course!).
