Leki Retro Trekking Pole

Sick of sore knees after a long descent? Feeling unstable on steep wet slopes? Here is the answer. A good trekking pole takes around 20% of the impact off your back and knees, especially noticeable on the downhill, while "tripods are more stable than bipeds" so you're much less likely to fall over and will find your confidence on steep or rough ground much improved. The Leki Retro is an unfussy classic pole made from strong but light aluminium, with an ultra-hardwearing tungsten carbide tip and a bog basket to prevent the pole penetrating too deeply into soft ground. The cork handle is sweat absorbent and the soft fleece lined wrist loops adjustable. The Internal twistlock system is easy to operate, grips well (much better than many cheap poles) and the expanders can be replaced if they eventually wear out.
